Investing for students?
This may seem like a very funny question to all you top investers out there but i am only just starting! I am 16 and doing a competition with my friends that involves investing with fake money but with real figures from the stock market.
however i am struggling to understand one thing:
I bought 1350 shares in Vectura Group.
This cost me 75.5 pence
now its worth 77.75
But in the profit margin it says -4.72
please could you explain this to me, i am very new as you can tell!
Was there a transaction charge, trading fee, brokerage charge, etc? If you paid that on top of the total cost of the stock, you won’t show a profit until the total value of the stock climbs above that cost.
