If You buy a Penny Stock and it does well by getting into AMEX, will the shareholders lose their stock?
If You buy a Penny Stock and it does well by getting into AMEX, will the shareholders lose their stock becuz it is now on a different stock exchange?
When a stock moves to an exchange the only thing that changes is where the stock is traded, not the ownership of the stock. (Although you did not ask this, I will add the same is true if a stock is delisted from an exchange. The ownership of the shares remains the same.)
The only way you lose shares that you own is
(1) if you sell them
(2) if the stock is canceled in bankruptcy proceedings, or
(3) if the company is acquired by another company, in which case you will receive cash, stock in the new company, or both, for your shares.
